Dear Friends:
Yemen is a
Republic and the only multi- party
democratic country in the Arabian Peninsula.
Three free
parliaments elections and one local council and one presidential
election have been held on 1993,1997 ,1999,2001
and 2003 respectively after the unification
of Yemen. The Republic of Yemen was
proclaimed in the 22nd of May
1990.
The Republic of
Yemen is proud of its advanced trade
institutional structure and the grate
international trade reputation it enjoys.
Oil revenue in
the Republic of Yemen is significant to
sustaining the growth and development of our
country. Therefore, the government of Yemen
is concentrating its efforts on the oil
sector and offers a wide range of facilities
and investment protection for its oil
fields. The government’s aim is to attract
companies who desire to invest in Yemen’s
oil, gas and minerals resources as well as
all walks of life in general.
There is an
investment law according to which all
facilities must abide and guarantees are
provided for all investors.
We will continue
seriously to develop our national economy,
diversify our wealth of resources, enhance a
safe working environment, attract investor
and businessmen as well as establish
long–term relationships that will bear
mutual benefits for all.
There are many
investment opportunities in Yemen,
especially in the area of oil, gas and
mineral resources. In this regard, we
welcome all investors who wish to work in
our country.
We are
encouraging studies for expansion of
existing Refining units and Building new
Refineries as well as implementation of
small projects in the field of
petrochemicals Industries.
We always seek
to encourage stronger relationships with
these companies and widen mutual interests.
We will continue to provide support and
facilities in these areas in order to make
our country’s diverse natural resources
available and over promising incentives for
successful and investments.
I have
personally followed the progress in
promoting these resources and hope that the
results will mean that many of you will be
visitors to our country in the near future.
