for investment opportunities in Ma’reb Refinery Lab
Expansion and Updating Project as well as starting
to seek for funding resources to enable it implement
the project;
-
Carrying
out the necessary maintenance works on the refinery
in order to keep it operating with its entire
production capacity to meet the increasing needs of
oil derivatives in markets nearby the refinery;
-
Completing
the construction of the investment unit projects;
-
Technically
supervising the process of installing and
implementing new refineries of the private sector;

Increasing
the volume of its activities. This is through being
a partner in private sector’s petrochemical,
refining and investment projects as being the body
representing the government in such field;
-
Finishing
the preliminary study of the electric power plant
and petrochemicals industries, which include the
construction of a gas pipeline to be connected from
Saffar to Dhamar province.
-
Benefiting
from additional products of the refinery;
-
Carrying
out the final stages of the following projects:
A. UREA
Industry Project:
By designing a number of
promotional programs and communicating with a number of
international companies, YORC was adept at persuading
UHDE, a German firm, to carry out the study of this
project free of charge. Later on, for the sake of
constructing the project, promotion shall be done
through visiting a number of countries and holding
promotional seminars to attract investments to this
project.
B.
Detergent Industry Project:
The study of the project
shall be finalized. Following data and information
sorting and analyses comes the economic preliminary
study as well as the feasibility study, which would be
followed by stimulating promotional activities earmarked
for the project’s investment opportunities.
C.
Expansion and Updating of the Refinery’s Lab
The study of the project
shall be accomplished. This is by completing the
economic feasibility study and defining the project’s
perquisites, all of that would be done by the competent
consultant company, which has already been selected to
do so after the process of bidding assessment had been
over. After that and on the light of the findings, the
project would be implemented, a matter which mostly
depend on the allocated funds and on the participation
of the private sector.
D.
Headquarter Construction Project
Following the purchase of
the headquarters’ property; the construction of the
surrounding wall and guards facilities; installation of
gates; evening of the land; and finally the conducting
of soil tests, the company shall proceed in 2005 with
constructing the building, which depends on the
allocated cash for such purpose.
E. The
Project of Preparing and Improving Safety and Security
System in Refineries
While following safety
rules, instructions and condition is crucial, fulfilling
the requirements of safety and security is even more
imperative. This can only be through availing modern
equipment and preparations and meeting the demands of
such a vital sector particularly in oil and gas plants,
which are highly risky. Realizing all of this, YORC has
made this project an essential part of its 2004 plan.
Also in 2003, it signed a contract to import a
fire-truck.
In 2005, it shall commit
itself to finalize all requirements by availing tools,
training facilities, and awareness-raising aids as well
as visual and readable guidance and instructions.
Actually, plans have been made to carry out its first
stage this year.
F.
Information Systems Network Project:
Since the outset of its
foundation, YORC has been concerned with conducting a
number of studies on some investment projects and
promotional activities by holding scientific seminars
and international gatherings inside and outside Yemen.
This brought about fruitful results. Also due to
exerting a lot of efforts in the process of collecting
data and information on relevant oil projects and on oil
industries in general and refining industry in
particular, YORC realized that it had no other
alternative except archiving and storing such
information by following the modern ways as a means of
benefiting from such processes. Thus, YORC has included
it in 2005 plan and allocated a special funding from its
2005 budget.
Beyond and above, the
Company has been doing its best to overcome any
obstacles and barriers confronting its work and tasks;
for example it was capable of achieving the following;
-
It was able to carry out
maintenance works on the refinery camp (offices and
premises)
-
It technically
maintained the motive factor (catalysts) ??
-
It offered its staff
with technical and administrative training inside
and outside Yemen;
-
It was capable of
securing and availing repair parts for the refinery;
-
It designed maintenance
programs.
YORC’s
